the T family | babies & family

What a treat it was to meet the T family. They had just returned home after welcoming their second little girl into their family and at only 4 weeks old she was such a cutie. And never mind their eldest girl who, at 19 months of age, was so full of energy and had better ideas than sitting down for some family photos. We met at the family’s favourite spot, the Reifel Bird Sanctuary, for a fun and relaxed family session and I think we did a pretty good job.;)

Ideas Ideas! Displaying those cherished memories in your home.

Showing off those treasured images makes your portrait session so much more worthwhile. Most people are pretty guilty of having great photos taken and then keeping them on their computer. Some go as far as making a print or two, but why spend money on a fabulous and personalized portrait session and not show off the results? I love creating amazing wall galleries for families to cherish for years as we all know life changes in an instant. And the great thing is that nowadays your wall art can be as stylish and creative as you and your home. If you intent and/or want to show off those treasured memories on your walls (whether it be in the family room, nursery or on your dining room wall) there are so many ways to really make your images pop. Here are a few ideas to get the creative juices flowing…

1. Look around your home to give yourself an idea of what to wear. We all have our favourite colours and tend to decorate our homes with them. Whether it be grey’s or browns as the base, you can add great pops of colour in your accessories and location choices. We all feel better in colours we love anyways and are WAY more likely to love the images when we feel as good as we look.

2. Figure out where you want to display your collection and do you want to display a lot of smaller images (such as a collection of 10 x 10′s) or a select few larger images. Or even just one.

3. Don’t be afraid to ask your photographer for location suggestions and clothing ideas. This is our job. To make you and your family look good and we want you to not only like the results, we want you to LOVE them.

I have created a Wall Gallery album on my Cora’s Photography Facebook page so if you need ideas, check there often as I’ll be updating it regularly.

baby sebastian

How can sweet little Sebastien be 6 months old already? He has grown so much and is just the sweetest little man. Such a great character already and a love of the more serious expressions when in front of the camera. Lol! He was as cute as they come for our session and our only issue was that he couldn’t fit in many of my baskets. But really, when you are that age is that really a problem?!?! He has the best baby pudge! Thank you so much to mom and dad for coming to see me AGAIN! I love keeping in touch with you guys.:)See you in a few months for the little man’s cake smash!

Lucy – 9 days | newborns

I love my job. I actually adore my job beyond words sometimes. Having the opportunity to photograph the newest member of a family can be magical and really reminds you of what is so good in life. Family. So having the chance to photograph the R family and their newest member, little Lucy, along with her older brother Sam was really great. The fact they are also neighbours of ours and Sam and my gal Charlotte play together a fair amount nowadays, also makes capturing this special time in their lives pretty special. Thank you to J & D for welcoming me into your lives and sharing your two favourite people with me.:)
